Field Sketching & Nature Journaling Workshop

Learn to observe the details of nature through Field Sketching and Nature Journaling, a relaxing past time that anyone can enjoy with just basic drawing tools and no artistic background. This workshop will begin with an indoor introduction and overview of field sketching and nature journaling with lots of examples to inspire you. Simple exercises and drawing tips will start you on your way. Then we'll head outside to practice our new skills, weather permitting. Beginners and seasoned sketchers are welcomed.
Material needed; A pencil or pen and paper is all you need. You are welcome to bring other sketching tools and equipment if you would like.
The workshop is lead by Gabrielle Sivitz who has been teaching about science, nature and art for 17 years. Gabrielle is a naturalist as well as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer, she has also worked at a variety of nature centers and museums, including the Academy of Natural Science in Philadelphia and the Montana natural History Center in Missoula.
